Inter will step up their pursuit of on-loan West Ham midfielder Alex Song in the summer.

The 27-year-old former Cameroonian international has enjoyed a good campaign at the Hammers, but looks unlikely to make his stay permanent in London, and will return to parent club Barcelona at the end of the season.

Sport reports that Inter boss Roberto Mancini is an admirer of Song, and has instructed his directors to make an effort to sign the talented midfielder in the summer.

The Catalans are likely to sell if an appropriate offer comes in, deeming the Cameroonian surplus to their requirements, and Italy could loom as the next destination for the deep-lying playmaker.

Song has made 28 appearances for the Hammers this campaign.
