Juventus director Giuseppe Marotta has condemned the violence aimed at the Bianconeri’s team bus before the derby with Torino, but laid some of the blame with the media.

The vehicle was pelted with missiles including stones, which saw windows smashed, on their way into the Stadio Olimpico for the match.

“The aggression [we saw] is a matter of serious violence,” he declared whilst speaking to Sky Sport Italia, expressing his anger at those responsible.

“It is a predictable result,” Marotta added, “of some journalists and columnists and the way they talk about us. The hope is that it doesn’t escalate to even more serious levels.

“I read a piece this morning in a reputable newspaper that called us thieves.”

Despite this unsettling preparation to the match, Juventus surged into the lead against Torino, only to see the Granata come back to claim the points in the second half.
