Watford fullback Marco Motta admits his intention is to extend his stay with the newly promoted English outfit.

The 28-year-old Italian international only joined the Hornets on a short-term deal until the end of the season in February, but is keen to continue his adventure in the Premier League next season.

“The stadiums are full and modern and the people always applaud their own team with respect. There is a different mentality, something different, which is passed from father to son,” Motta told Tuttosport.

“I want to stay in England and with the Pozzo family. We arranged to meet after the promotion to talk about my future. So it will be my priority to remain at this club.

“I was very well received and was made to feel part of the project from day one.”

Watford achieved promotion to the Premier League with one game to spare, in which time Motta has made eight appearances for the Hornets.
