Napoli midfielder Walter Gargano is reportedly edging closer to signing a renewal with the San Paolo outfit.
The 30-year-old, whose current deal with the Partenopei is set to expire in June 2016, has become a reliable player in Rafa Benitez’s squad since returning from his season-long loan stint at Parma before the start of the 2014-15 campaign and it seems like the Neapolitan side is ready to keep him on board for quite some time.
According to Sky Sport Italia, Alessandro Lucci, the agent of the Uruguayan international, has met with Benitez and club sporting director Riccardo Bigon in recent days in order to discuss his client’s future at Napoli, with more meetings apparently scheduled for the coming weeks.
Gargano, who arrived at the Italian club from Danubio in 2007, has only left the club twice on loan since then and has provided one assist in his 18 Serie A appearances this term thus far.
