Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini wants Champions League football for his club.

The Rosanero just missed out on qualifying for Europe’s premier club competition in 2007 and 2010, but Zamparini was hopeful about his team’s future chances after their 3-1 away win over Udinese.

Speaking to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Zamparini stated, “I hope we can return to Europe. We could aim for fourth place but the departure of [Ezequiel] Munoz and speculation around [Edgar] Barreto have damaged us.

“I want Palermo to get into Europe, maybe next time in the Champions League.”

Zamparini also discussed the futures of Palermo’s star attacking pairing, Paulo Dybala and Franco Vazquez.

“The Palermo we are building will be stronger than this team. Dybala and Vazquez are not easily replaceable, but we will not treat replacing them as a trivial matter.

“Vazquez will only go if we receive the right offer. Otherwise he will remain with us.”
