Atalanta striker Mauricio Pinilla spoke about securing a draw at home to Cesena on Wednesday night, emphasizing the importance of the point earned.
Pinilla scored twice on the night, securing his brace with a spectacular bicycle kick to equalize in the last 10 minutes for La Dea.
Pinilla spoke about his team’s quality in never giving up and fighting to snatch a point from the game, stressing that Atalanta are much better than their league position suggests.
“The draw feels like a win to us,” Pinilla said to Sky Sport Italia.
“But as long as we are not mathematically safe, we must keep fighting [like today] to secure Serie A survival.
“The current league position does not reflect our actual ability; this Atalanta team can be in mid-table.”
Atalanta are 17th in Serie A, eight points off the drop zone.
