Stefano Pioli is insistent that, as far as Lazio are concerned, the next game is always the most important.
Lazio find themselves, quite surprisingly, in third place and consequently there is a serious possibility of Champions League football next season for the Biancocelesti. Pioli isn’t looking that far ahead though.
“Tomorrow’s match with Cagliari is the most important because it’s the next game,” the tactician told the press. “We’ll have to play to the maximum against a dangerous team.
“We need continuity. We look only at ourselves. At the end of the match we will see the results of our rivals, but we can only affect our own results. This is our philosophy.
“The big game is tomorrow, then we’ll see. I understand the enthusiasm but just look at the standings and you’ll realise we have not done anything yet. We are focused on tomorrow.”
