Atalanta coach Edy Reja hopes that Sunday’s victory over Sassuolo will reassure his team’s fans following their protest on Saturday.
German Denis scored twice to give La Dea a 2-1 win, following a run of eight winless matches.
“For two months we could not win, it was normal that the fans were concerned,” Reja told Rai Sport.
“With the three points today we made a small step forward. We hope this victory can reassure our supporters a bit.”
Reja went on to discuss the protest which occurred during the week when La Dea held an open training session.
“The fans expressed their disappointment but said they will support us to the end.”
