Roma are eying a move for Saint-Etienne’s number one Stephane Ruffier as the long term replacement for veteran Morgan De Sanctis.
The Giallorossi have been linked with a number of shot stoppers around Europe, including Chelsea’s Petr Cech, as the club look to a future without the 38-year-old De Sanctis.
The latest name linked with filling De Sanctis’ boots is Saint-Etienne’s Ruffier according to Le10Sport, but the capital club will face fierce competition for the Frenchman from other sides including Marseille, Monaco, Sevilla and Valencia.
Despite the keeper having only recently signed a new contract until 2018 with Les Verts in September last year, Ruffier remains a target for a number of sides. The 28-year-old began his career with Monaco, spending six seasons with the principality club before he completed a move to Saint-Etienne following Monaco’s relegation from the French First Division.
