Sampdoria captain Angelo Palombo has praised January signing Samuel Eto’o.

The tough-tackling midfielder was speaking after Sampdoria claimed a 1-1 draw at the San Siro against AC Milan.

“Eto’o is a world class player,” Palombo told Mediaset

“He has played in some of the best teams in the world and has won everything in the club game. He is an important player for us and a great person too. At 34 years old he is in great shape and works very hard for the team.

“He is a superb example for the young players in the team.”

Regarding the future of tactician Sinisa Mihajlovic, the player went on to say: “We are only thinking about this season but I hope that [Sinisa] Mihajlovic stays as coach.

“For us he is crucial in how we play and he is a great person with amazing tactical knowledge.”
