Palermo triumphed 3-1 over Udinese at the Stadio Friuli, and Rosanero goalkeeper Stefano Sorrentino expressed the collective relief of his teammates after finally getting sealing an elusive win.
Prior to Sunday’s encounter, Palermo had earned only one win in their previous eight matches, and have regained some ground in their push for an improved campaign.
“For some time we could not win, but we succeeded in Friuli,” said Sorrentino to Sky Sport Italia following the match.
“We have dedicated the win to our president, we know how much he wanted to win against Udinese.
“We know what our limitations are, as well as our goals. There are still eight games, and we will try to gather as many points as possible.
The goalkeeper gave some added praise to the work of Paulo Dybala and Franco Vazquez as well, for the Rosanero’s success this season.
“Dybala and Vazquez are our diamonds,” Sorrentino said.
“We pamper them often, and we hope to have them with us again next year.”
