Andrea Stramaccioni - InterUdinese coach Andrea Stramaccioni was pleased with the effort of his players, despite a 2-1 home Serie A loss to former club Inter.

The Zebrette had two players dismissed during the contest, but bravely fought on and could have claimed a share of the spoils towards the end of proceedings.

“We played well tonight, as we did against AC Milan,” said Stramaccioni in an interview with Sport Mediaset.

“We are growing, and I want the boys to go home with a positive mind-set because they have shown they can compete against the big clubs.

“We had two chances even though we were down to nine men. This is a defeat which can still be seen as progress for the club.”

The ex-Inter man felt referee Gianluca Rocchi could have shown leniency in the case of Emmanuel Badu, who was sent off for acting in an aggressive manner towards the official in charge.

“Rocchi should not have dismissed Badu,” suggested the Bianconeri boss.

“Badu was wrong, but he was angry because a foul on him had been missed.

“Maybe Rocchi could better manage the situation by telling the lad off without ordering him off the field.”
