€50m windfall awaits Torino if they cash in on defence

Torino could raise €50 million through the sale of four of their most prized defensive assets in the summer.

Full-backs Matteo Darmian and Bruno Peres, as well as centre-backs Kamil Glik and Nikola Maksimovic, have been the core of a miserly defence which has only conceded 33 goals, the sixth best record in Serie A.

La Stampa has reported that between the four of them, Torino could demand in excess of €50 million. With the hope of building a stronger squad for next season, it is thought highly unlikely that the entire defence will be broken up and that not all, if any, of the players in question will be sold.

Peres have been linked with Roma recently, whilst fellow full-back Darmian has also caught the eye of the Giallorossi as well as a host of top European clubs, most notably Real Madrid and Barcelona.

Granata captain Glik, meanwhile, is said to be on the radar of Tottenham Hotspur.
