Torino and Roma will both look to continue their recent winning runs when the meet in Serie A at the Stadio Olimpico di Torino on Sunday afternoon.

Toro are just five points behind Napoli for a Europa League qualification place after consecutive wins against Parma and Atalanta, while Roma look to have rediscovered their form with victories against Cesena and Napoli.

The capital club have scored 174 goals in 139 Serie A matches against Torino, more than against any other opponent, and dominated the reverse fixture earlier this season recording a routine 3-0 win at the Stadio Olimpico on November 9.

The Granata have failed to record a win in their last nine Serie A games against the Giallorossi since Roberto Muzzi scored the only goal in a 1-0 win at the Stadio Olimpico on May 13 2007.

It is even longer since they have managed a league home win against Roma, with Francesco Romano the match-winner in a 1-0 win at the Stadio delle Alpi on October 7 1990.

Torino only need to score two more times to reach 2,000 home goals in Serie A, and could look to captain Kamil Glik to reach this historic total. The Polish defender is the most prolific defender across the top five European leagues this so far this season with seven goals scored.

Gaston Silva is the only player missing through injury for Torino, while Migjen Basha is suspended after flicking Mauricio Pinilla in the face.

The incident resulted in both players being sent off during the final minutes of last Saturday’s match at the Stadio Azzurri d’Italia as the Atalanta forward chased him down and aimed a strong kick at the back of his leg.

Daniele De Rossi is a doubt for Roma after suffering a hairline fracture in the back and is following a personalised training programme ahead of the game, whereas Ashley Cole can still play in spite of fracturing his right hand.

Kevin Strootman, Maicon, Gervinho and Seydou Keita are all unavailable through injury, however Leandro Castan has returned to training after undergoing surgery in December to remove a brain malformation.

Vasilis Torosidis is suspended after receiving a fourth yellow card of the season in the 1-0 win against Napoli.
