Roma fullback Vasilis Torosidis has called on his side to now secure second place in Serie A this season after a 1-0 win against Napoli at the Stadio Olimpico on Saturday.
A first-half goal by Miralem Pjanic moved the Giallorossi nine points ahead of their Champions League qualification rivals and also secured a first home win in the league since November 30.
“We played a good game against a great team,” the 29-year-old told Sky Sport Italia after the match.
“This is an important victory, as we are now nine points ahead of Napoli and can look forward with confidence.
“We want to play again in the Champions League next year.
“The criticism of the fans? We have not won [in Serie A] at the Stadio Olimpico since November 30.
“In over three months we have played badly and lost out on winning the Scudetto, which was our goal this season.
“Now we must do everything possible to secure second place.”
