The agent of Empoli players Mario Rui and Mirko Valdifiori has increased transfer speculation linking the pair with a summer move to Fiorentina.
Both fullback and midfielder are attracting interest from several Serie A sides after impressing on their first-ever campaigns in the top flight, including their Tuscan neighbours.
“Both players, as well as the whole team, have had a great season and it is normal that the eyes of important clubs such as Fiorentina have been drawn towards them,” Mario Giuffredi told Firenzeviola.it.
“I have a great relationship with [sporting director] Daniele Prade and I consider [technical director] Valentino Angeloni a friend, but honestly they have never actually asked about these two players.
“Like you I read the newspapers and I know that they are talked about in Florence a lot, but I have still not received any call from Fiorentina.
“If I had my way I would take them on foot to Florence, but of course these things are done between the two teams.”
