Rossoneri president Silvio Berlusconi opined that he would be ready to welcome Carlo Ancelotti back at AC Milan, should Real Madrid dismiss him.

The future of Ancelotti has been put into question, after having been eliminated out of the Champions League semi-finals and losing out the La Liga title to Barcelona.

Although AC Milan have been linked with a host of names to potentially replaced current coach Filippo Inzaghi, Ancelotti remains one close to Berlusconi’s heart.

“I am not usually one for returns, but there is a great, personal friendship with Ancelotti,” Berlusconi said to NapoliTv.

“In the past there have already been cases of coaches returning to a club and it has never proved successful.

“However I have many of my personal counselors and partners who think Ancelotti’s will be a positive comeback.

“If Real Madrid release him of his contract, then AC Milan will welcome him.”
