D’Ambrosio: Hard for Inter to qualify for Europa League after Juventus loss

Inter defender Danilo D’Ambrosio has admitted it will be difficult for his side to qualify for the Europa League this season after their 2-1 Derby d’Italia loss to Juventus.

The Nerazzurri are without a win in their last 10 league meetings with the Bianconeri and remain in 8th position in the Serie A standings with just two matches remaining.

“We really tried hard to win this one,” the 26-year-old told Inter Channel.

“We know how much the Derby d’Italia means and we wanted to give our fans a bit of joy.

“We weren’t able to do that and we’re upset about that. It’s going to be hard to get into Europe now.

“Juventus are a strong, compact side. We expected a difficult game.

“Our biggest mistake was not killing the game off in the first half when we had the chances to hurt them.”
