Cagliari coach Gianluca Festa has commended the Rossoblu’s hard working performance after collecting an important point from their 1-1 draw with Juventus at the Juventus Stadium.

Luca Rossettini grabbed a vital goal five minutes from time to give the Isolani a point after enduring a tough game against the recently crowned champions, and despite not being a win, the tactician gave credit to his players for keeping their hopes of safety alive.

“I am happy that the team responded with great desire,” Festa told Sky Sport Italia.

“One point isn’t much, but it is of course a very hard thing to come to Turin and win a game.

“In these four games this team has proven to be willing to fight until the end and I am convinced that we can do so.”

Festa was appointed coach of the relegation threatened side at the end of April and has since turned fortunes round for his team, though speculation still remains on whether he will stay after the end of the season.

“It is up to the club, we will talk about my future at the end,” he said.

“This is a topic that touches me as I found a team that was prepared from a physical standpoint, but that needed to find their enthusiasm again.”
