Fiorentina fans protested against the price of the ticket to go pay a visit to watch their side face Empoli on Sunday.

The Tuscan derby saw the away side run out 3-2 winners courtesy of a Josip Ilicic double and Mohamed Salah’s finish, however the Viola fans were not happy with the price of the ticket at the Stadio Carlo Castellani.

According to ANSA, Fiorentina fans unveiled a banner which read: “The €35 [price of the ticket] will be better spent on Algida.”

The banner refers to the price of the ticket, with the supporters saying that they would rather spend it on Algida, a company specialising in the production of ice cream, and a competitor to Empoli-based ice cream company Sammontana.

Vincenzo Montella’s men will play their next game against Sevilla in the second leg of the Europa League semi-final on Thursday, having lost the first leg 3-0.
