Enrico Preziosi GenoaGenoa have made an appeal to the denial of their UEFA license by CONI, the official committee in charge of managing sports teams in Italy.

The Grifone have been in excellent form up to the final two rounds of their Serie A campaign, but will be denied their qualification to the Europa League due to the Stadio Luigi Ferraris’ failure to meet the operating codes of the competition.

According to an official announcement made from the Ligurian club, an appeal has been sent to CONI in hopes of retaining their right to compete in the Europa League with an official UEFA license.

While Sampdoria also shares the same stadium as Genoa, the Blucerchiati have instead registered themselves for potential home games to be held in Sassuolo’s Mapei Stadium, if they manage to take the sixth place qualification spot from their rivals, or if Genoa is denied their license once again.

Genoa have already had an appeal to the FIGC turned down.
