The Italian Football Federation will hear Genoa’s UEFA License appeal on June 6.

The Grifone will finish in the top six of Serie A for the first time since 2009 when their season comes to an end at Sassuolo on Sunday, which would usually mean qualification for the Europa League.

However, the necessary UEFA License was not granted by the FIGC after Genoa’s representative failed to show up for the original hearing; the Rossoblu appealed that decision and now their fate will be sealed on Wednesday, June 6 at 1600 CET.

There were concerns over the Stadio Luigi Ferraris, which requires renovations to meet UEFA standards, but city rivals Sampdoria were granted their license after inserting a clause to play European games at Sassuolo’s Mapei Stadium if improvements had not been completed in time.

The Blucerchiati, currently seventh, stand to benefit in the Rossoblu’s appeal is turned down.
