Inter are set to receive a total of 11 million as a result of Sunderland’s Premier League survival, as the Black Cats’ permanence in the top flight will activate a clause making attacker Ricardo Alvarez’s move to the club permanent.

Last summer the Nerazzurri sent Alvarez to the English club on an initial 500,000 loan deal that included a permanent purchase clause.

Although Alvarez was not in the squad for Sunderland’s match against Arsenal on Wednesday night, a goalless draw at Emirates Stadium ensured the Black Cats’ stay in the top-tier of English football.

As a result, fcinternews.it report that Sunderland will now pay Inter €10.5m as the clause making the move permanent has now been activated.

Although he has been plagued by knee injuries over the course of the season, the Argentine international has made 17 appearances in all competitions for the club from North East England, scoring one goal.

Alvarez, who arrived at Inter from Velez Sarsfield in 2011, has 69 appearances and 14 goals to his name in three seasons with the Nerazzurri.
