Inter defender Jonathan admits he’s at a lost to explain the way the season has panned out for the Nerazzurri.
The 29-year-old Brazilian youth international has endured a nightmare season riddled with injury, and will leave the club when his contract expires at the end of the June.
Inter fell 3-2 to Genoa on Saturday evening to condemn them to an 11th loss of the season, and ensure that there will be no European football at the San Siro next season.
“It’s difficult to explain what is happening. We have the quality and experience, but we are unable to impose ourselves,” Jonathan told Terra.
“Against the good teams we do well, but against the weaker teams – on paper – not so much. We play to win, but eventually succumb to a draw or defeat.”
