decision to close the Curva Sud for two matches after criticizing the inability of security and camera footage to identify who threw a paper bomb at Torino supporters during the Derby della Mole.

The Bianconeri also believe the ruling by sporting court judge Gianpaolo Tosel is contradictory and that this incident proves how urgently an improvement in infrastructure is needed throughout other stadia in Italy.

The club released the following statement confirming it will appeal the ban, while also condemning all acts of violence.

“Juventus Football Club reaffirms its absolute condemnation of all acts of violence committed inside or outside football grounds.

“Nevertheless, the club would like to draw attention to the enormous contradictions which have resulted in the ruling made by the sports judge.

“The security measures and CCTV system at Torino’s Stadio Olimpico have not, as yet, enabled the police to identify the perpetrator or perpetrators of the criminal act.

“The sports judge’s statement also makes reference to the report by the National Observatory of Sports Events for the FIGC Prosecutor’s Office.

“In said report, it is stated that the device was “believed to have been thrown from the upper part of the away fans’ section”.

“Just two lines later, the sports judge says “beyond all reasonable doubt”. This is clearly contradictory.

“To sum up: the perpetrators remain unknown and the location of the crime – which is known – receives no sanction, while Juventus Stadium is sanctioned and with it its owner, Juventus, which according to all the authorities has made its stadium a safe environment both in terms of prevention and, more importantly, repression, if and when it should be required.

“Juventus Football Club will therefore lodge an appeal against this decision.”
