Tevez - Juventus v Real MadridCarlos Tevez is being tipped to challenge for the Ballon d’Or after a wonderful season for the Juventus top scorer.

The Argentine has fired the Old Lady to the Scudetto and a first Champions League semi-final in over a decade, with some believing that the 31-year-old could become the first Juventus-based winner of the World Player of the Year accolade since Fabio Cannavaro in 2006.

With Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi trading the award since Kaka’s victory in 2007, Gazzetta dello Sport are tipping Tevez to be on the podium in 2015, with the Champions League semi-final with Real Madrid – and a possible final with Barcelona – being key matches to deciding the fate of the trophy.

Of course, Tevez has had an impressive year, which is even more so having been outcast at previous club Manchester City, with the 2014/15 campaign seeing the attacker net 29 goals and earn a recall to the Argentina national team.
