Real Madrid star Toni Kroos has praised opposition Juventus ahead of the first leg of the Champion’s league semi-final, though backs his side to progress in the competition.

The German midfielder stated the importance of the fixture admitting the game will be tough, noting the Bianconeri’s strong points, yet holds faith in his side to persevere in order to reach the final.

“We have prepared well,” he assured. “[Carlo] Ancelotti knows Juventus very well so I think he has prepared us in the best way.

“Juventus are good in defence, and they are quick playing on the counter so we will have to adapt to them.”

Madrid have the opportunity should they reach the final to be the first ever team to win back to back titles in the competition, however Kroos recognises that they will have to battle against a resilient side in order to do so.

“To have already reached the semi-finals is a great success. We are within the top four teams in Europe and we will do everything to reach the final.

“We are aware that no-one has ever won the Champions League two years in a row so we want to achieve this great goal.

“I am confident in my team’s ability to win.

“But first we have to face such a strong opponent in Juventus.”
