Lazio welcome Inter to the Stadio Olimpico in Serie A on Sunday evening in a must-win match for both Champions League and Europa League qualification next season.

The Nerazzurri produced a second half comeback from two goals down to draw 2-2 with the Biancocelesti at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza in the reverse fixture on December 21.

This was the first time the two twinned sides had shared the spoils since a 0-0 draw in Coppa Italia semi-final first leg on April 16 2008, but both will be desperate for all three points on their 144th Serie A meeting.

Following eight successive league wins, Lazio have won only once in their last four Serie A fixtures and dropped into third position behind city rivals Roma after a 1-1 draw at Atalanta last Sunday.

The Aquile are now four points ahead of Napoli for the final Champions League qualification spot with four matches remaining, but have amassed 16 points in last six home games and boast a strong home record against the Biscione in recent seasons.

Inter are currently on their longest winless run in their history against Lazio at the Olimpico after failing to win in their last four visits since Walter Samuel and Thiago Motta scored in a 2-0 win on May 2 2010.

With just three points separating fifth-placed Fiorentina and Inter in eighth in the Serie A standings, the Beneamata still have a chance of qualifying for the Europa League and have won four of their last six away Serie A games.

Miroslav Klose is available after serving a one-match suspension at Atalanta and the Aquile top-scorer will look to continue his recent run of form after scoring four goals in his last five league appearances.

The 36-year-old forward has also been decisive against Inter at the Olimpico over the last two seasons having scored the winning goal in the final 10 minutes of successive 1-0 wins on December 15 2012 and January 6 2014.

Lazio are also boosted by the return of Stefan de Vrij and Lucas Biglia after recovering from respective knee and ankle injuries, but Santiago Gentiletti, Bruno Pereirinha, Ederson, Lorik Cana and Senad Lulic are unavailable.

Inter are without long-term absentees Dodo, Jonathan, Marco Andreolli, Hugo Campagnaro, while Zdravko Kuzmanovic has returned to training after suffering a wrist injury against Wolfsburg on March 19.
