Torino forward Maxi Lopez believes his side still have an outside chance of Europa League football next season after scoring a match winning brace against his former club Chievo.
The first half had ended in a stalemate before the former Barcelona striker scored two goals in an 18 minute period to ensure the points remained in Turin.
“I did not celebrate my first goal out of respect for my former club as they always treated me well,” the Argentine told reporters following the conclusion of the match.
“For the second goal, however, I could not help my self and I wanted to celebrate with the fans in front of the curva.
“As for European football next season you never know and there are still two important games we have to win.
“We will need to see at the end of the season but to qualify would make it a beautiful campaign, we just need to finish the campaign well.
“I want to remain here next season and I have said it many times, it is down to me to show it on the field of play.”
