A frustrated David Lopez insists Napoli deserved to beat Dnipro in their Europa League semi-final first leg at the San Paolo on Thursday night.
It was his first goal of the season which had given the Vesuviani the lead until the visitors struck with 10 minutes to go through a goal from Yevhen Seleznyov, despite him hitting the net from an offside position.
“I think we controlled the game and after the first goal, it looked like it would be a good result for us,” he told Mediaset Premium afterwards. “Now we have to reflect and think about what we must do to win the next game.
“It was difficult to play against them. They were a team that defended well. We had several chances so in the end, I don’t think the result is the right one.
“They had only one shot on goal!” the exasperated Spaniard exclaimed. “However, now we must think about the next game.”
