Sporting Kansas City are interested in bringing Lazio’s veteran midfielder Cristian Ledesma to Major League Soccer in the summer.
The 32-year-old Italian international has been relegated to a fringe member of the Albiceleste by coach Stefano Pioli, and is certain to leave when his contract expires at the end of the season.
Sport Italia report that there is ongoing contact between Kansas City and Ledesma’s entourage, and the MLS club are confident of wrapping up a deal soon for the play-maker.
The player was reportedly close to a move to Inter in January, but a potential deal fell apart at the last minute.
Ledesma has been a loyal servant for Lazio, making over 300 appearances since moving from Lecce in 2006.
