Andrea Stramaccioni UdineseUdinese coach Andrea Stramaccioni felt his side could have beaten Roma at the Stadio Olimpico this evening and was disappointed his side failed to make the most of their chances.

The Zebrette took the lead through Stipe Perica but eventually lost 2-1 as Radja Nainggolan and Vasilis Torosidis scored to give the home side all three points.

“We defended well and were close to going 2-0 up,” he told Sky Sport Italia. “We are disappointed not only for that but for not making the most of our last minute counter attack in that first period.

“We had them in trouble towards the end of the opening 45 minutes, but the equaliser changed the balance of the match a little.

“It’s a shame as I was very pleased with the team despite a couple of costly errors.”

Regarding the future, the former Inter coach said: “We are improving and are at an important stage of the current project. We are hoping for a good campaign next season with the addition of some new faces, though our current crop of youngsters are making huge strides.”
