The 29-year-old Greek international has been the Friuli’s first-choice this season guarding the net, and his impressive form has led to the exile of Scuffet and interest from Roma.
Udinese director Andrea Carnevale has surprisingly admitted to TeleRadioStereo that they will allow Karnezis to leave for a bigger club next season.
“Karnezis could’ve gone to Benfica last summer, but Andrea Stramaccioni decided to focus on him because of his international experience,” Carnevale confirmed.
“Now he can go to a more important club. Our future is Simone Scuffet. We’ve been preserving him, as a season on the shoulders of Karnezis has helped him to grow.”
