AC Milan gave a wonderful debut to their new home kit for next season, overcoming Champions League chasing Roma at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza 2-1, and will hope it signals an improvement on the pitch next term.

Languishing in mid-table in Serie A the match arguably meant more to the visitors than the Rossoneri, however, goals from Marco van Ginkel and Mattia Destro were enough despite Francesco Totti pulling one back.

Launched on AC Milan’s official on the morning of the game the club remarked on a return to Milan’s traditional stripe combination of five black and four red on the shirts face, but a focus on a more innovative design.

Still manufactured by adidas, a major alteration to the previous kits is the choice of their famous three stripes in grey not white, described as giving greater uniformity to the rest of the jersey.

What does remain for a second season is the Cross of St. George club crest, providing a strong link with the club’s history.
