Having been rebuffed in their initial attempts to resign Zlatan Ibrahimovic from Paris Saint-Germain, AC Milan will now bide their time and make another attempt to lure the Swedish forward back to Italy at the end of the current transfer window.

Boosted by fresh investment following Bee Taechaubol’s purchase of a minority stake, the Rossoneri are preparing for a busy summer and have targeted the mercurial veteran striker as a signal of their intent to return to the pinnacle of domestic and continental football. However, so far PSG have been reluctant to relinquish their prized talisman.

According to Gazzetta TV, although Milan are unlikely to sign Ibrahimovic over the coming weeks, the Rossoneri hierarchy believe that they may be presented with another chance towards the end of the transfer window when the 33-year-old, who has a year left on his contract, will have to review his future in the French capital.

Another factor which could also work in Milan’s favour is the situation surrounding Edinson Cavani. The Uruguayan is believed to be fed up with playing in Ibrahimovic’s shadow, and being five years younger than the Swede, PSG may decide to build their team around him, freeing up Ibrahimovic to return to Milan.
