AC Milan are reportedly looking to finalize the deal for Atletico Madrid defender Diego Godin in the upcoming transfer window.

The Rossoneri are planning a squad overhaul during the summer, following the disappointing tenth place Serie A finish last season.

With Roma midfielder Andrea Bertolacci and Sevilla striker Carlos Bacca seemingly secure, the Rossoneri have now set their sights on strengthening the backline.

According to Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo, Milan are looking to land Atletico centre-back Godin, but face competition from Premier League side Manchester City for the 29-year-old Uruguayan.

Godin joined Atletico Madrid from Villarreal in 2010, and has scored 10 league goals in 155 appearances for the capital club.
