hachim mastour ac milanAC Milan youngster Hachim Mastour confessed he has declared to play international future for Morocco instead of Italy because he has greater feeling for the north African nation.

The 16-year-old, who can claim the ‘Moroccan Messi’ among his nicknames, was born in Reggio Emilia to Moroccan immigrants and has lived his entire life in Italy.

However, he has now accepted a call from the Moroccan national team to take part in their squad that plays against Libya on June 12 in an African Cup of Nations qualifier and said his reasons for doing so were simple: “I chose to play for Morocco because it is simple – I feel more Moroccan than Italian. I am happy to be part of the squad.”

Mastour has previously represented Italian underage sides at both U16 and most recently U17 level.

Despite rumours surrounding him throughout the season, he has yet to make his senior debut for the Rossoneri although he has been involved in matchday squads and been named on the bench.
