AC Milan are working to settle the contract of sacked coach Filippo Inzaghi by mutual consent in order to clear the way for new man Sinisa Mihajlovic.

Milan are talking to Inzaghi and his agent to try to resolve the 41-year-old’s contract so that they can announce the arrival of Mihajlovic to the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza.

The Serbian coach left Sampdoria at the end of the season and Sky Sport Italia report the 46-year-old is ready to sign a two-year contract with the Rossoneri.

However, Milan must first come to an agreement with Inzaghi, otherwise they would have on the payroll three coaches at the same time: Mihajlovic, Inzaghi and Clarence Seedorf.

The Dutchman won 11 out of 19 Serie A matches in the 2013/14 season but was dismissed for finishing eighth after just five months in charge.

Inzaghi was promoted from Primavera coach to take his place but the former Italian international could not guide the club back to European football, finishing the campaign in a dismal tenth place.
