Atletico Madrid would be heading to Chile to finalise the deal for Porto and former AC Milan target Jackson Martinez.
AC Milan target had courted the Colombian striker since the start of the summer transfer window and looked set to sign him.
However, with the deal hung up over the medical, Atletico Madrid have swooped in and now look set to sign him.
Atletico Madrid sporting director Andrea Berta has flown to Chile in order to conclude the deal with Martinez, according to Gazzetta TV.
The Italian media added that the player’s agent has also confirmed that there would no longer be any hopes for the forward to join the Rossoneri at this point.
Martinez is currently in Chile on international duty with Colombia, competing in the Copa America and looking forward to a quarter final clash against Argentina.
