Bayern Munich have not given up on signing Torino defender Matteo Darmian, despite the Granata’s deadline for sales having passed.

Chairman Urbano Cairo had stated that June 30 would mark the final opportunity for clubs to sign any of Torino’s stars, and has rebuffed a bid from Napoli that was deemed insufficient.

The Gazzetta Dello Sport suggested that even with that deadline past, Bayern may still be able to convince Cairo to part with his star right-back.

Pep Guardiola is said to be keen to make Darmian a fundamental part of his squad as they look to regain the Champions League next season.

However, Torino’s message to the German champions has been clear: if the Granata are offered €20 million, Darmian will be allowed to leave.

The 25-year-old began his career at AC Milan before moving first to Palermo and then to Torino, where he has made 133 appearances over four seasons.
