Former AC Milan striker Alexandre Pato could be set for a return to Serie A, as Sao Paulo claim that a host of Italian clubs are interested in the forward.

Pato burst onto the scene as a teenager after joining Milan from Internacional and although he made a promising start to his career in Italy, his form tailed off as injury problems took their toll. He moved back to Corinthians in his native Brazil in 2013 and following a loan spell at Sao Paulo the striker is once again attracting attention from Serie A.

According to Sport Mediaset, Sao Paulo president Carlos Miguel Aider has been informed of interest from both Inter and Sampdoria, whilst Radio International Bologna has paired the Brazilian with newly promoted Bologna who have identified the 25-year-old as their top priority in the transfer market.

Pato has endured a difficult time in Brazil following his return in January 2014 despite scoring 19 goals in 60 league games for Corinthians and Sao Paulo.
