Stefano Colantuono has terminated his contract with former club Atalanta as the Italian is set to become the new coach of Udinese.
The Bianconeri finished 16th in Serie A in the first season under ex-Inter coach Andrea Stramaccioni, the 39-year-old failed to inspire a young side and having finished with four straight defeats a lack of noticeable progression has led to many calling for a change at the Stadio Friuli.
The expected replacement is 52-year-old Colantuono, who was replaced by Edy Reja at La Dea in March but was still under contract in Bergamo, which would have prevented him taking up a new job at a different club.
However, now the former defender is free to move to Udinese and is believed to be in discussions with Zebrette owner Giampoalo Pozza to finalise the details on a contract to coach the Bianconeri.
