Controversial former Parma striker agrees terms to join Sampdoria

AC Milan v Parma - Antonio CassanoControversial Azzurri striker striker Antonio Cassano has reportedly agreed terms to join his former club Sampdoria during the summer transfer window.

The 32-year-old terminated his contract with Parma to become a free agent in January as the former Inter striker broke up with the club due to not getting paid since July 2014.

Sportmediaset report that Cassano’s agent met Sampdoria president Massimo Ferrero and sporting director Carlo Osti regarding his client’s possible transfer to his former club on June 18 and an agreement was reached between the two sides during the evening.

The deal is expected to be announced later on June 19.

Cassano joined Parma from Inter in 2013 and scored 17 league goals 53 appearances in his one-and-a-half years spell with the Crociati.

The former Real Madrid striker made 96 appearances and scored 35 times during his previous spell at Samp.
