Inzaghi - AC MilanAC Milan’s Curva Sud have released a statement condemning the club’s treatment of outgoing coach Filippo Inzaghi.

The Rossoneri are set to hire former Sampdoria coach Sinisa Mihajlovic to replace Inzaghi, following meeting between the Serb and Milan president Silvio Berlusconi on Wednesday evening. However, there was no official word on Inzaghi’s future at that time, though he has been informed, along with assistant Mauro Tassotti, that their time at the club is over.

Hi Pippo,

It has been a long time since the summer of 2001, and in the beginning you were not immediately loved after you came from Juve and seeing you over here [Milan] was something strange.

But you had the skill and tenacity, and above all humility needed to touch the heartstrings of every Milan fan.

Yes, because of you we lifted the 2003 European Cup, as before we lifted the cup, it was you who took us to the final. How could we forget the last minute goal against Ajax (because for everyone that is your goal).

How could we forget all the goals in the derby, the goals in Athens, one that was more than all the nights, or even the goals in Yokohama. No one will ever forget the goal you scored to get to 300, the many magical European nights, and then the last one which caused a tear of sadness because we knew it would be the last time you would play for us.

The picture of your shirt will remain indelible in the Curva Sud while you salute the San Siro.

You then started following the youth teams, and you, with Berretti and the Primavera, albeit sporadically we were with you during the important moments, such as Viareggio or the derby, and no one forgets the gesture you made to the lads at Interello when you left the lads and came to celebrate with us.

Today, for those who love you, it is a sad day, you joined the first team in July, and although we didn’t get better, you tried your best, you’ve put your heart into the job and we will always appreciate that, and you will always have our support, while the club turns its back to to hide the failings in the transfer market and continued promises.

They have treated you in a manner which is unworthy, looking for replacements before informing you of their intentions.

We saw a Milan honouring its legends, but today we see a Milan which used to be one of the best to hide the rotten core behind it. They [the directors] have done this, but for us you should never change, always stay the same, the one who is screaming like a madman after every goal, and the Curva recognises your importance.

It is certainly not the end today, the respect and sentiment towards means we cannot be like that. We don’t forget what you are for us, and what you have done for us.

When you want we will always be there for you.

With affection Cuvra Sud Milano, your curva.

Milan also dismissed, after 35 years, first a player then a coach, always characterised by great professionalism and great respect towards the colours. Mauro Tassotti. There almost seems a duty to thank you as well, and wish you well.

You remain indelible in the history of Milan. Thanks for everything Tasso!
