David Villa: It would be great to play with Pirlo at NYCFC

New York City FC forward David Villa has revealed that he would be happy to play alongside Juventus midfielder Andrea Pirlo if he were to join the new MLS side.

The Italian has been heavily linked with a move to the American team in recent months and is reportedly on the verge of completing a deal with them in the coming days, which has caused the former Barcelona man to express his praise for the Serie A legend.

Villa spoke to the press about the possibility of Pirlo joining NYCFC and admitted that he would love to be on the same team as the Juve star, but insists that it’s still too soon to talk about.

“It would be great to have the good fortune of being able to play with Pirlo, he’s a great player and a world star,” said the 33-year-old.

“It would definitely be a great thing, but it’s still too early to talk about it.”
