It has been revealed that Stephane Mbia is stalling on signing a contract with Trabzonspor because he is still hoping of a call from Inter.

The 29-year-old Cameroonian international opted not to sign an extension to his current deal that expires at the end of the season with Sevilla, which meant he was effectively a free agent.

Reports last week suggested that Mbia had agreed a three-year deal with Trabzonspor worth €2.5 million a season, despite rumored interest from the Nerazzurri.

Fcinternews.it can reveal however that Mbia has not yet signed the contract with the Turkish club because he is still hopeful that Inter will reignite their interest in him.

That looks unlikely however with the imminent signings of midfielders Geoffrey Kondogbia and Giannelli Imbula in the coming days.

Mbia made a total of 36 appearances with Los Rojiblancos in all competitions this season, scoring seven goals in the process.
