Fiorentina are set to appoint Paulo Sousa as the new coach at the Stadio Artemio Franchi, just two days after Vincenzo Montella was relived of his duties with the Viola.
The former Juventus player is the current boss at Swiss club Basel, but is expected to leave the post and replace Montella who was fired by the Viola on Monday after three years in charge.
According to Sky Sport Italia, an agreement was reached between the Tuscan club and the Portuguese tactician on Wednesday evening, which sees the 45-year-old return to the peninsula for the first time since he finished his playing career in Serie A at Parma in 2000.
The Viola look to have chosen the former Queens Park Rangers and Swansea boss over Roberto Donadoni, who was also heavily linked with the vacant post at the Stadio Franchi.
