BehramiSwiss international Valon Behrami could be set for a surprise return to Italy as potential suitors are lining up for his signature, with former club Fiorentina the front-runners.

Behrami spent the most recent campaign at Bundesliga club Hamburg, though endured a difficult season as his side narrowly avoided relegation, and thus the midfielder is eager for a way out.

La Gazzetta dello Sport suggests that the player desires a return to the peninsula, and in particular would welcome a move back to the Tuscan club.

The midfielder enjoyed a spell with the Florentines between 2011 and 2012 before moving on to Napoli, and is reportedly willing to take a cut in wages  to rejoin La Viola.

The club is also said to be very interested in regaining the services of their former player, as new coach Paulo Sousa considers Behrami as the perfect fit in his new midfield alongside favourites Borja Valero and Matias Fernandez.

However, the report further states that should Fiorentina wish to complete a deal, they would have to contend with Sassuolo who are looking to bulk up their squad, in addition to Napoli who are also reported to be interested.
