AC Milan forward M’Baye Niang has signed a new long-term contract, keeping him at the club until June 2019.
The 19-year-old spent the second half of last season on loan at Genoa, scoring five goals in 12 appearances for the Grifone.
AC Milan have moved quickly to tie down the Frenchman to a new deal, which they have since announced on their official website.
“AC Milan announce that they have extended the contract of M’Baye Niang until June 30, 2019,” the statement revealed.
Niang had endured a difficult start with the Rossoneri but the extension indicates a new-found faith in the striker.
It was in fact the former Caen forward who broke the news to the world, taking to Twitter to announce the deal.
“AC Milan again for another two years, thank you AC Milan for this show of confidence; I am honoured,” Niang stated briefly on his Twitter account.
