AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani has spoken of his admiration for new signing Andrea Bertolacci, who recently joined from Serie A rivals Roma.

The 24-year-old’s superb season with Genoa, who had co-ownership rights over the player with Roma, propelled him into Antonio Conte’s Italian national team set-up as well earning the reported €20 million move to the Stadio Meazza.

“Bertolacci is a great player,” Galliani said briefly talking to Sky Sport Italia. “We’ve been after him for quite a while.”

“Whether or not we will sign another midfielder I can’t say. We’ll have to wait and see.”

Milan endured an awful 2014/15 campaign, finishing a poor tenth place under the stewardship of coach Filippo Inzaghi. Unfortunately for the young tactician, the club hierarchy relieved him of his duties and he has since been replaced by ex-Sampdoria boss Sinisa Mihajlovic.
